UL 2777-2016 pdf download.Standard for Sustainability for Hard Floor Care Products.
6.1.2 Regardless of the results of efficacy tests, finishes,sealers and restorers shall provide a surfacewith good slip resistance by demonstrating a coefficient of friction >0.5 according to ASTM D2047-93 orcGSB 25-GP-1 Method 30.1.
6.1.3 lf advertising a certain percent solids, the hard floor care product shall provide percentage of thepolymer as separate from other solids (e.g..plasticizers):
6.1.4 The hard floor care product shall be accompanied by the following:
a) Detailed instructions on safe use and handling procedures;
b) Detailed instructions on maximizing product performance (e.g. dilution rate, expectedlifespan of finish before stripping);
c) Indications for proper waste disposal of product with emphasis that unused left over productshould be disposed of hazardous waste; and
d) Instructions on the recyclability of the container andor packaging materials.
6.1.5 As demonstrated by the due diligence of the manufacturer, the hard floor care product shall;
a) Not be packaged in chlorinated plastic materials; and
b) Have made efforts to ensure packaging with post-consumer recycled content.
6.1.6 Closed loop dispensing systems currently available in the market have automatic dilution/meteringsystem controlling the dilution rates.Such dispensing systems can handle very concentrated products butstill meet the requirements of the criteria after dilution at the recommended rate. Hence, for concentratedproducts, not meeting the toxicity requirements but sold in a closed loop dispensing systems, shall meetthe following criteria:
a) Based on the recommended dose for typical use, the product must meet all therequirements of the criteria document; and
b) The dispensing system should have an automatic dilution system for the recommended doseat typical use; and
c) The dispensing system should have measures to prevent tampering with the dilution ratio;and
d)Products that are designed to be used in closed dilution-control systems that are containedin spill-resistant packaging.
